Tour Program

The CCCSC Tour Program comes free with membership and swings into action as soon as the snow falls. Details and updates can be found on the Web Site and in the newsletter as well as at the Social Meetings.

 


PLEASE NOTE: The ACT COVID-19 Lockdown has ended and NSW restrictions have eased. The CCCSC Committee is currently reviewing what this means for CCCSC Activities. Touring and Social Activities may resume.  Please check this website for any updates on this situation.


 

Book yourself on a tour!

  • Contact the tour leader and have your name added to the list or
  • Put your name on the tour sheet at Club Night
  • The tour leader organises car pooling and gives any information required
  • Each passenger contributes towards the driver’s expenses

Abbotts Range (Overnight Camp)
Charlotte’s Pass

An overnight camp on the Abbotts Range, which provides another eagles view over the upper Murray country and a ‘top of the world’ camping experience, and is the place to go to escape the sweltering summer heat. The second half of January is the preferred time for this trip.

A day walk to the top of Kalkite Mountain which overlooks Lake Jindabyne.

The Sentinel (Overnight Camp)
Charlotte’s Pass

Will start at Charlotte Pass and follow the walking track past Blue Lake out to The Sentinel to set up camp. There is a great sheltered campsite with amazing views of the steep western side of the Main Range. The first weekend in February is the preferred time for this trip.

Cave Creek / Blue Waterholes (2 nights car camping)

Drive along Long Plain to Cave Creek / Blue Waterholes. Will camp for two nights by the creek a short distance from the public camping area and do day walks around the area. Some may be interested in poking into the many caves in the area or doing a bit of trout fishing. February is the preferred time for this camp.

Cascade Hut (Day Walk)
Dead Horse Gap Lower Carpark

A long day walk from Dead Horse Gap along the fire trail, over Bob’s Ridge and down to Cascade Hut. March is the preferred time for this walk.

Pretty Plain (2 nights camping)

Will head along the fire trail from Tooma Dam via Patons Hut and camp for 2 nights near where the trail meets the Tooma River. On the second day some may do a day walk up Pretty Plain to the hut or up towards the Dargals and Wheeler’s Hut, while others may choose to try their luck fishing the Tooma for the legendary ‘huge’ trout. March is the preferred time for this walk.
