Description: |
This is a repeat of last year’s trip to the lodge at Snowy Vale. The property lies adjacent to the Jagungal Wilderness and offers walking in the cooler sub-alpine areas sometimes frequented by cross-country skiers in a good winter. There will be 8 bunk beds available in the lodge on a first registered/first served basis and ample opportunity for car camping. The road to the Gungarlin River has been much improved by the Council since last year and ambitious Subaru Forester drivers have been driving to the lodge. Members will be free to plan their own day trips into the Park or around the property of 1280 acres but I hope to do a day trip to Spencers Peak, the midway point between Kiandra and Guthega for those doing the crossing in winter. There are two creek crossings that could prove a problem for vehicles in the event of heavy rain. |
