| Description: | This is a camp ground provided by NPWS beside the beautiful Gungarlin River on the far side of Nimmo Hill. The track in is a bit rough but should be traffickable at this time of year. From the camp site it is a short walk in to the historic Davies hut; the site of the original Snowy Plains house is a little further. The remains of a burnt out gold dredge lie forlornly on the plain. Going downstream you come to the picturesque Botherum Plain. Those who fancy fishing could try their skill. Those who fancy something more challenging can walk to Kalkite Gap and then climb Kalkite mountain for a birdseye view of Lake Jindabyne. |
